- ESPN begins coverage of the 2025 WNBA Playoffs with four First Round Game 1 broadcasts on Sunday, September 14, with games spread across ABC and ESPN.
With the WNBA's 2025 regular season now complete, ESPN is pleased to announce that it will carry every game from the 2025 WNBA Playoffs Presented by Google, starting on Sunday, September 14. Eight teams will play in this year's WNBA Playoffs — the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty, top overall seed Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, Indiana Fever, Atlanta Dream, Golden State Valkyries, Phoenix Mercury, and the Seattle Storm.
Several commentators are featured in ESPN's comprehensive 2025 WNBA Playoffs Presented by Google coverage, including the lead announcing team consisting of play-by-play announcer Ryan Ruocco, analyst and Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo, and reporter Holly Rowe. During the postseason, the secondary crew of Pam Ward, LaChina Robinson, and Angel Gray will call games. Additional talent set to make appearances during ESPN's WNBA playoff coverage are play-by-play commentators Tiffany Greene and Mark Jones, analysts Debbie Antonelli and Carolyn Peck, and reporters Brooke Weisbrod and Vanessa Richardson.
To complement the WNBA playoff game telecasts, ESPN will precede games with WNBA Countdown Presented by Google. The studio team will head to the game sites of the 2025 WNBA Finals presented by YouTube TV, offering live coverage from the arena. The coverage of the first and second rounds of the WNBA playoffs includes studio shows split between Bristol and Los Angeles. In Bristol, the coverage will feature Elle Duncan, Andraya Carter, and Chiney Ogwumike. The Los Angeles studios will showcase Malika Andrews, Chiney Ogwumike, Andraya Carter, Monica McNutt, and Carolyn Peck..
For the second straight season, the WNBA Playoffs begin with four games being played on a single day. Sunday, September 14, is the date of record!
The day's playoff action kicks off at 1:00 PM ET on ESPN as the expansion Golden State Valkyries play their first-ever postseason game against Naphessa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx. Later, WNBA Countdown presented by Google will air on ABC at 2:30 PM ET, featuring Elle Duncan, Andraya Carter, and Chiney Ogwumike.
At 3:00 PM ET on ABC, the Indiana Fever face the Atlanta Dream. Then, at 5:00 PM ET on ESPN, Breanna Stewart and the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty start their quest for back-to-back titles against Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury. The nightcap sees Nneka Ogwumike and the Seattle Storm visit A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces at 10:00 PM ET on ESPN.
