- Celebrating a Half of Century worth of Baseball: Warner Bros. Discovery Sports (formerly Turner Sports) to commemorate 50 years of baseball coverage on TBS with league's biggest names and rivalries on Tuesday nights all season long
- MLB on TBS starts 2023 regular season coverage on Tuesday, April 4 with a important, key early-season interleague showdown as Trea Turner and defending National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies battle Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees
Don't look now, but the 2023 MLB season is now quickly approaching! Warner Bros. Discovery Sports (formerly known to many of you as Turner Sports) recently announced its picks for Tuesday night regular season telecasts during the first half of the 2023 MLB regular season. The 2023 schedule is highlighted by number of 2022 MLB Postseason rematches, superstars on new franchises & some of the biggest baseball rivalries at the current moment.
The second season of MLB on TBS Tuesday (16th season overall) debuts with interleague East Division Showdown on Tuesday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. (ET), featuring the 2022 National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies and their new shortstop Trea Turner traveling to Yankee Stadium to battle 2022 American League MVP Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees.
The 2023 season marks the 50th anniversary of Major League Baseball airing on WBD Sports' networks, dating all the way back to 1973 when games were first televised (originally, of course, Braves games only and then national games later on) on WTCG (now TBS). The partnership with MLB represents one of the longest-active running relationships between a company and a single league.
TBS will televise 26 Tuesday night games during the upcoming 2023 MLB season and will be the exclusive home of the 2023 NLDS and NLCS.

ReplyDeleteThey should've done that for FOX and ESPN this week.

DeleteThat's understandable. TBS wouldn't want to air a game with a bad team.

Once again, a light MLB national television schedule this week due to FOX airing CFB all day Saturday, thus preventing from any MLB games at all.
Is there any update on what the final Regular season TBS or FOX Games will be? I am still hoping for Astros vs Mariners on TBS & Rangers vs. Mariners on September 30th, thank you.
ReplyDelete@Desmond1992 There is no update regarding the final TBS or FOX game for the final week of the season. But, I hope they consider the Mariners' postseason push in regards of which games to choose from.
DeleteBob Costas could be calling a game for TBS down the stretch due to Brian Anderson calling Brewers games for Bally Sports Wisconsin.
DeleteHappy Monday! Attached is this week's national broadcast schedule in MLB. Hard to believe that October playoff baseball is almost here:
ReplyDelete. NYY/BOS (Tuesday, TBS)
. NYY/BOS (Thursday, FOX regional)
. TB/BAL (Thursday, FOX regional)
. CHC/ARI (Sunday, ESPN) - Karl Ravech, Eduardo Pérez, David Cone, Buster Olney (confirmed)
Once more, another light week of limited national games. FOX is airing a CFB tripleheader (Noon ET, 4 PM ET & 8 PM ET) this Saturday, so that's why FOX is airing MLB on Thursday night. Plus, FS1 is booked with CFB (Noon ET, 3:30 PM ET, 7 PM ET & 10:3 PM ET) on Saturday. No FS1 baseball this week. However, they will be back next week with MIN-CIN on Monday & NYM-MIA on Wednesday.
A situation worth mentioning (inconsequential to many) -- in Philadelphia, to the MIN-PHI TNF game airing on WTXF/Fox 29, MLB is unfortunately moving to a another channel.
* 10:30 PM (ET) for FS1 late-night game
