Hi, I hope that you are enjoying this holiday season as we welcome you to the Week 16 edition of the NFL on CBS: Field Pass. In this week's story, you will find several important pieces of information featuring this week's NFL on CBS broadcast schedule, commentator lineup and distribution splits.

On Sunday, December 22, CBS will be televising an NFL doubleheader with six games on the docket (three games early and three games late). In the early window (1:00 PM ET), you have Rams at Jets, Browns at Bengals and Titans at Colts. In the late window (4:25 PM ET), you have 49ers at Dolphins, Patriots at Bills and Jaguars at Raiders. Which NFL on CBS doubleheader games will your market be receiving this week and who's set to call the action? Please continue to read to find out the answer to that question that I just posed to you guys. As a side note, Chicago (WBBM-TV) and Charlotte (WBTV) will only get a late game this week on CBS, as the Bears and Panthers have chosen to enforce blackouts during the early window (1:00 PM ET).

Let us begin our discussion now about this week's NFL on CBS schedule.

Pregame: "The NFL Today" presented by RAM Trucks (12:00 PM ET):
Before CBS shows the Sunday doubleheader, the network will televise a one-hour pregame show called "The NFL Today presented by RAM Trucks" beginning at 12:00 PM ET. Originating from New York City, James Brown hosts the program alongside a full cast of analysts, including Hall of Famer coach Bill Cowher, former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson, 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan, three-time Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt. Jonathan Jones joins the program as the insider, providing the latest news and updates from around the NFL as the Sunday afternoon kickoffs approach.

NFL on CBS Doubleheader Game #1: 1:00 PM ET (Rams at Jets, Browns at Bengals & Titans at Colts):
At 1:00 PM ET on CBS, coverage for the Week 16 doubleheader begins for most of the country (except for Chicago and Charlotte, which will be blacked out for the first game of the doubleheader, as previously mentioned). CBS will regionalize three games for the 1:00 PM ET window this week, including - Rams at Jets (Primary; 74% of Markets), Browns at Bengals (17% of Markets) and Titans at Colts (5% of Markets). We will dissect each of the three early game matchups for CBS.

Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and the Los Angeles Rams (8-6), winners of seven of their previous nine following an atrocious 1-4 start, head east to the Jersey Meadowlands to try to stay on top of the NFC West standings against Breece Hall, Davante Adams and the New York Jets (4-10) on Sunday, December 22 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Rams were able to withstand rainy conditions against the 49ers last week on "Thursday Night Football" and fought for a 12-6 win. This victory permitted Los Angeles to vaunt into first place in the NFC West. The Rams are currently battling with the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks for the top spot in the NFC West division with three weeks left (San Francisco is basically out of the division race). With a victory Sunday, the Rams would strengthen their postseason hopes. Last week vs. the 49ers, Rams WR Puka Nacua led the team with seven receptions for 97 yards. Rams DE Kobie Turner had his fourth multi-sack game of his career last week vs. San Francisco. 🎙 Sunday's Rams-Jets game will be broadcasted on CBS, described by iconic play-by-play commentator Kevin Harlan, analyst and former NFL quarterback Trent Green and sideline reporting performed by Melanie Collins.

Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and the Cincinnati Bengals (6-8) host Denzel Ward, Jameis Winston and the Cleveland Browns (3-11) for the "Battle of Ohio" on Sunday, December 22 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Bengals are currently on a two-game winning streak, including last week's 37-27 win over the Titans. As you know, the Bengals' playoff hopes are slim to none despite their recent success. If the Bengals drop this game, they will be eliminated from playoff contention. Last week's win over the Titans marked the 400th win in Bengals history. Bengals QB Joe Burrow threw his NFL-leading 36th touchdown passes against the Titans last week while Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase surpassed the 100 receptions mark for the season in that same game. 🎙 CBS will broadcast Sunday's Browns-Bengals game with Spero Dedes (play-by-play), Adam Archuleta (analyst) and Aditi Kinkhabwala (reporter) calling the action.

Jeffery Simmons and the Tennessee Titans (3-11) look to place a potential final dagger in Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts' (6-8) playoff hopes on Sunday, December 22 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Colts are coming off an upsetting 31-13 loss to the Broncos last week, a game in which the Colts led for a long period of time before collapsing and giving a game that they should have won away. Now, Indianapolis' playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread, as the team needs to basically win out to have any hopes for the postseason. A Colts loss plus a Chargers win would eliminate the Colts from the postseason. Colts RB Jonathan Taylor ran for over 100 yards last week vs. Denver. Colts S Nick Cross recorded an interception last week vs. the Broncos. 🎙 This week's Titans vs. Colts broadcast team on CBS features play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy, analyst and former NFL kicker Jay Feely, analyst and former NFL offensive lineman Ross Tucker and sideline reporter Tiffany Blackmon.

NFL on CBS Doubleheader Game #2: 4:25 PM ET (49ers at Dolphins, Patriots at Bills & Jaguars at Raiders):
Following the conclusion of the 1:00 PM ET games, stay tuned for the second game of the national doubleheader at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. CBS will regionalize three matchups for the late afternoon doubleheader this weekend, including - Patriots at Bills (Primary; 57% of Markets), 49ers at Dolphins (40% of Markets) and Jaguars at Raiders (3% of Markets). Let's dig a little deeper into these late afternoon matchups for CBS Sports this Sunday.

Dion Dawkins and the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills (11-3) welcome in Rhamondre Stevenson and the New England Patriots (3-11) to town on Sunday, December 22 at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. Buffalo has won eight of their previous nine games, including last week's shootout 48-42 win over the top team in the NFC, the Detroit Lions. The Bills have already wrapped up their fifth straight AFC East title, but the team has much bigger goals in mind. The biggest goal of all is to potentially catch up with Kansas City for the #1 seed in the AFC, but the Bills need to continue to win and have Kansas City slip up just a little (as Buffalo trails Kansas City by two games with three games to go; Buffalo owns a head-to-head tiebreaker with Kansas City based off the Bills Week 11 victory over the Chiefs). The Bills have scored 30 points in eight consecutive games. Bills QB Josh Allen put together another strong game last week vs. Detroit, as his MVP candidacy continues, totaled 430 yards (362 pass, 68 rush) & 4 TD's (2 pass, 2 rush) vs. 0 INT's with 122.4 QB rating. Bills CB Christian Benford had 6 tackles, sack, forced fumble and a pass defensed last week vs. the Lions. 🎙 Fans looking for the game broadcast should tune in to CBS for Sunday's telecast, with play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle, analyst Charles Davis and sideline reporter Evan Washburn.

Here's a fun fact for you: Did you know that the San Francisco 49ers and the Miami Dolphins once competed in Super Bowl XIX back in 1984? (The 49ers would go to defeat the Dolphins, 38-16, to win their second Super Bowl in three years.) Obviously, these teams will be NOWHERE close to a Super Bowl this season. Two desperate teams look to keep their small playoff hopes alive as Fred Warner and the San Francisco 49ers (6-8) visit Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins (6-8) on Sunday, December 22 at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. It has been a frustrating season for the defending NFC champions, as they stumble into Sunday's game in Miami with a subpar 6-8 record. Last week, the 49ers fell short in a 12-6 loss to the Rams on "Thursday Night Football". This season has been filled with untimely bad games and a ton of injuries. However, San Francisco has displayed plenty of resiliency. Examples include CB Charvarius (Mooney) Ward coming back to play following the tragic death of his one-year-old daughter. LB Dre Greenlaw returning last week after missing ten months due to an awful ACL injury during Super Bowl LVIII in February. San Francisco's hopes for the postseason are basically "dead in the water. If San Francisco loses on Sunday, they would be eliminated from the playoff (& NFC West) contention. As for Miami, they have shown a valiant effort to salvage their season following a disastrous 2-6 start. But, after a 20-12 loss to the Texans last week, the Dolphins' playoff chances are basically on thin ice. They can't afford any more losses the rest of the way. A Dolphins loss and a Chargers win would knock the Dolphins out of postseason contention. Dolphins LB Jordyn Brooks led the team with eight tackles last week vs. the Texans. This game is the perfect example of teams striving to keep their slim hopes alive for another week. 🎙 The lead NFL on CBS commentary crew of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson will be on-site at Hard Rock Stadium for Sunday's 49ers-Dolphins game broadcast on CBS.

Darnell Savage and the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-11) play Ameer Abdullah and the Las Vegas Raiders (2-12) on Sunday, December 22 at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. 🎙 Andrew Catalon calls play-by-play for Sunday's Jaguars-Raiders contests on CBS, with three-time Pro Bowl running back Jason McCourty and Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty serving as Catalon's game analysts. AJ Ross reports from the sidelines.
