- CBS presents a Week #3 Singleheader on Sunday, September 21, with six games, including Bengals-Vikings, Steelers-Patriots, Texans-Jaguars, Colts-Titans, Broncos-Chargers & Saints-Seahawks.
- "The NFL Today" previews Week 3 action beginning at 12:00 PM (ET) on CBS, featuring the cast of James Brown, Nate Burleson, Matt Ryan, Bill Cowher, & Jonathan Jones.

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the Week #3 edition of the NFL on CBS: Field Pass. In this week's article, we'll discuss the regional coverage scheduled for the NFL on CBS on Sunday, September 21, during Week #3 of the 2025 NFL Season. This article will provide an overview of the broadcast schedule for Sunday, game previews for each matchup, and a distribution list indicating which game your local market will receive on CBS this Sunday.
For the second consecutive weekend, CBS will have a singleheader. That means that your local market will be getting a CBS game at either 1:00 PM ET (early) or 4:05 PM ET (late). As usual, CBS will broadcast "The NFL Today" at 12:00 PM ET to preview the games this Sunday, followed by the game that your local CBS station will show.
CBS will have six games to distribute on a regional basis in Week #3, including Bengals vs. Vikings (1:00 PM ET), Steelers vs. Patriots (1:00 PM ET), Texans vs. Jaguars (1:00 PM ET), Colts vs. Titans (1:00 PM ET), Broncos vs. Chargers (4:05 PM ET), and Saints vs. Seahawks (4:05 PM ET). "The NFL Today" hits the air at 12:00 PM ET on CBS for a one-hour pregame show before Week #3 Sunday kickoffs. This show will feature analysis from the crew, the latest news from around the league, and pregame features with important NFL newsmakers. Veteran host James Brown anchors the program alongside analyst and Hall of Fame coach Bill Cowher, analyst and former NFL wideout Nate Burleson, and analyst and 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan. Lead CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones also appears on the show to provide viewers with crucial details before the games begin.
Ja'Marr Chase and the Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) seek their first 3-0 start in ten years with this Week 3 road showdown at U.S. Bank Stadium vs. Jonathan Allen and the Minnesota Vikings (1-1) on Sunday, September 21, at 1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM CT) on CBS. Last week, the Bengals defeated the Jaguars 31-27 to improve to 2-0. Last week, the Vikings dropped a game to the Falcons on "Sunday Night Football", 22-6, to fall to 1-1 on the season. Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase had 14 catches for 165 yards and one tuddy vs. the Jaguars last week. Vikings WR Justin Jefferson recorded his 500th career reception last week and tied 11-time Pro Bowler Larry Fitzgerald as the youngest player in NFL history to reach 500 career receptions. 🎤 Sunday's Bengals at Vikings CBS telecast features the lead crew of Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst), and Tracy Wolfson (reporter).
A pair of AFC franchises look to get above the .500 mark this week in Foxborough, as Cameron Heyward and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) travel to New England to play Stefon Diggs and the New England Patriots (1-1) on Sunday, September 21, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. In Week #2, the Steelers lost to the Seahawks, 31-17. Last week, the Patriots conquered the Dolphins 33-27 to earn their first win of this young season. The Steelers have won 16 of 22 regular-season games decided by one score since the start of the 2023 season. Patriots DT Milton Williams had 2 sacks last week against the Dolphins on the road. 🎤 CBS will provide television coverage for Sunday's Steelers-Patriots game, with Ian Eagle on play-by-play, three-time Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt providing analysis, and Evan Washburn updating viewers from the sidelines.
Will Anderson Jr. and the winless Houston Texans (0-2) start their AFC South schedule against rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter and the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) on Sunday, September 21, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. Last week, the Texans lost to the Buccaneers 20-19 in a heartbreaking finish. Last week, the Jaguars went to Cincinnati and fell short 31-27. Last week, Texans (and former Browns) running back Nick Chubb scored his first touchdown as a member of the Texans. The Jaguars lead the NFL in rushing, with 339 yards combined across their first two regular-season games. 🎤 The divisional duel from Jacksonville will be called by Spero Dedes (play-by-play), Adam Archuleta (analyst), & Aditi Kinkhabwala (reporter) on CBS.
Camryn Bynum and the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts try to continue their early-season success in this AFC South tussle against Calvin Ridley and the Tennessee Titans (0-2), searching for win number one, on Sunday, September 21, at 1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM CT) on CBS. Last week, the Colts prevailed 29-28 over the Broncos. Last week, the Titans were beaten by the Rams 33-19 at Nissan Stadium. The Colts look to start 3-0 for the first time since 2009 (a year which ended in a Super Bowl appearance). Colts QB Daniel Jones is one of four players in NFL history with at least 270 passing yards, a touchdown passing, and a rushing touchdown in each of his team's first two regular-season games, joining Jack Kemp, Cam Newton, & Kyler Murray. Titans QB Cam Ward completed his first touchdown pass vs. the Rams last week. 🎤 This week's Colts vs. Titans broadcast on CBS features the commentary team of play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy, analyst and former NFL offensive lineman Ross Tucker, and reporter Amanda Balionis.
Bud Dupree and the Los Angeles Chargers (2-0) finish an early-season run-through of the AFC West with this home game against Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos (1-1) on Sunday, September 21, at 4:05 PM ET (1:05 PM PT) on CBS. Last year, the Chargers swept the season series against the Broncos for the first time since 2010. In 2024, the Chargers compiled a 5-3 record during home games at SoFi Stadium. 🎤 Sunday's Broncos at Chargers game will air on CBS, featuring the broadcast team of play-by-play commentator Kevin Harlan, analyst and former NFL quarterback Trent Green, and sideline reporter Melanie Collins.
Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints (0-2) play their first road game of the 2025 campaign against Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the Seattle Seahawks (1-1) on Sunday, September 21, at 4:05 PM ET (1:05 PM PT) on CBS. In the Saints' previous game against the 49ers, New Orleans was beaten by San Francisco 26-21. Last weekend, the Seahawks flew out to Pittsburgh and picked up a 31-17 win. Saints DE Carl Granderson is tied for the league lead with 3.5 sacks. Seahawks QB Sam Darnold went 22-for-33 for 295 yards while tossing two touchdown passes (one to Tory Horton and another to AJ Barner) last week vs. the Steelers. 🎤 Sunday's Saints at Seahawks matchup is set to be regionally televised on CBS, with Andrew Catalon (play-by-play), Charles Davis (analyst), Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty (analyst), and AJ Ross (reporter) on the call.
