This week's MLB on Fox: On Deck highlights (Saturday, May 3) include:
  • Baseball Night In America Is Back!: Fox is set to bring back the longtime MLB on Fox staple, "Baseball Night in America", for the 14th straight season, beginning this Saturday (May 3) with regional coverage of Dodgers vs. Braves and Royals vs. Orioles, starting at 7:00 PM (ET).
  • Saturday Afternoon Baseball On FS1: Prior to Fox's Saturday night MLB coverage, FS1 will present a American League matchup during the late afternoon Saturday timeslot as the Minnesota Twins take on the Boston Red Sox at 4:00 PM (ET).
  • Twins, Red Sox Look To Continue Winning Ways at Historic Fenway Park: Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins continue their road trip in Boston against Kristian Campbell and the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, May 3 at 4:00 PM (ET) on FS1.
  • Two Longtime NL Powerhouses Clash in Atlanta: In a matchup of two teams from the 2024 MLB Postseason, Mookie Betts and the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers compete against Ozzie Albies and the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox.
  • Baltimore Plays Host to 2024 ALWC Re-Match: Royals vs. Orioles: Last season, Oriole Park at Camden Yards hosted the 2024 American League Wild Card Series between the Royals & Orioles (Kansas City won in a two-game series sweep). Now, Cedric Mullins and the Baltimore Orioles look for some revenge against Salvador PΓ©rez and the Kansas City Royals  on Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox.

With the 2025 MLB season well underway by this stage, Fox Sports returns with additional coverage of the regular season this Saturday, May 3, with baseball action during the afternoon on FS1 (4:00 PM ET) and then in primetime on Fox (7:00 PM ET). As a side note, this week marks the return of Fox's "Baseball Night in America" primetime series, a Saturday night package of MLB games that Fox shows during the Saturday primetime slot. Let's dig a little more into this Saturday's slate of games on FOX Sports.

The "Fox Saturday Baseball" slate on FOX Sports commences this Saturday at 4:00 PM (ET) on FS1. Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins visit Fenway Park for a weekend series against Rafael Devers and the Boston Red Sox. Saturday's FS1 broadcast will be the second game of a three-game series. πŸŽ™ Saturday's Twins vs. Red Sox game presentation on FS1 will be handled by play-by-play commentator Kevin Kugler and analyst Tom Verducci.

Then, the Fox broadcast network takes center stage at 7:00 PM (ET) with the season premiere of "Baseball Night in America". Furthermore, Fox has two great matchups to kick off this season's BNIA package. Your local FOX station will be receiving either Dodgers at Braves or Royals at Orioles. As a reminder, please EITHER check your local listings or the bottom section of this article to find out which markets will be getting which game on Saturday evening.

Shohei Ohtani and the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers travel to Atlanta for a Saturday game against Austin Riley and the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox. Saturday's Dodgers-Braves game is the second game of a three-game series between these clubs. Previously, the Dodgers & Braves played a three-game series against each other at Dodger Stadium in late March/early April, with Los Angeles sweeping Atlanta in three straight games. πŸŽ™ Play-by-play commentator Adam Amin provides commentary for Dodgers-Braves alongside Hall of Famer John Smoltz (analyst) and reporter Ken Rosenthal.

Two clubs that met in last year's postseason do battle again in a Saturday primetime match from Baltimore as Maikel Garcia and the Kansas City Royals take on Jackson Holliday and the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox. This is the second series of the season between these 2024 postseason clubs. Kansas City took two of three games from the O's in early April over at Kaffuman Stadium in Kansas City. πŸŽ™ Jason Benetti (play-by-play) & AJ Pierzynski (analyst) have the call of the Royals-Orioles Saturday night primetime presentation on Fox.

Note: Due to inclement weather, the "Baseball Night in America" schedule for this week had to be changed. Please check out the bottom of this article to find out how the coverage was impacted by rain for both of the scheduled games (Dodgers-Braves and Royals-Orioles).

Friday, April 25, 2025

  • 2025 NBA Playoffs presented by Google continue on Sunday, May 4 with Conference Semifinal coverage on TNT as Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers (#4 seed) visit Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers (#1 seed) in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at 6:00 PM (ET).
  • A Central Division Clash: For the first time since 2018, the Pacers and Cavaliers will do battle in the playoffs with a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals on the line.
  • Traditional Atlantic Division Foes Meet in East Semis: Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks (#3 seed) match up with Jayson Tatum and the reigning NBA champions Boston Celtics (#2 seed) in the Eastern Conference Semifinal round. This marks the first meeting between these two customary rivals in the playoffs since 2013.
  • The Second Time Around: In a Western Conference Semifinals matchup, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder face off with Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets. First playoff matchup since 2011.
  • Curry vs. Ant-Man: Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors (#7 seed) continue their quest for another championship against the electrifying Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves (#6 seed) in a fun Western Conference Semifinals matchup.

With the first round wrapping up this weekend with a pair of Game 7 matchups (Clippers-Nuggets on Saturday & Warriors-Rockets on Sunday), the time has come for us to talk through the NBA's Conference Semifinals. The Conference Semifinals start dates range from Sunday, May 4 (Pacers-Cavaliers, Game 1) through Tuesday, May 6 (Warriors-Rockets or Rockets-Timberwolves, Game 1). With that in mind, here is a brief rundown of each Conference Semifinal series.

The Conference Semifinal round opens up on Sunday, May 4. At 6:00 PM (ET) on TNT, Jarrett Allen and the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers host Andrew Nembhard and the No. 4 seeded Indiana Pacers for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Pacers won the series with the Cavaliers this year, 3-1, including two wins at Rocket Arena. The Cavaliers dominated the Heat via their four-game first round sweep, while Indiana got past Milwaukee in the First Round for the second consecutive season. πŸŽ™ Spero Dedes (play-by-play), Greg Anthony (analyst), & Jared Greenberg (reporter) will call Sunday's Pacers vs. Cavaliers game on TNT at 6:00 PM (ET).

The following day, Monday, May 5, two more Conference Semifinal series begin with a Monday night playoff doubleheader on TNT

To begin the evening, at 7:00 PM (ET) on TNT, Karl-Anthony Towns and the No. 3 seed New York Knicks begin their Eastern Conference Semifinals on the road at Boston's TD Garden vs. Jaylen Brown and the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics (No. 2 seed). This season, the Celtics swept the Knicks, winning all four regular season meetings. These two longtime foes meet in a playoff setting for the 16th time in NBA history. The Celtics defeated the Magic in a five-game Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, while the Knicks survived a hard-fought six-game First Round series with the Pistons (thanks to Jalen Brunson's late-game Game 6 heroics). πŸŽ™ Longtime NBA play-by-play announcer Kevin Harlan, analyst and Hall of Famer Reggie Miller, & reporter Allie LaForce are slated for Monday's Game 1 contest and for all Knicks vs. Celtics TNT games during the second round.

In Monday's nightcap on TNT (9:30 PM ET), the Western Conference Semifinals begin in Oklahoma City as Jalen (J-Dub) Williams and the Oklahoma City Thunder play the host role for Russell Westbrook and the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of their best-of-seven Western Conference Semifinal series. During the regular season, the teams split four regular season meetings. Thunder guard and MVP favorite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues his excellent season, as he led the NBA in scoring this year with 32.7 points per game. πŸŽ™ Ian Eagle (play-by-play) calls Nuggets vs. Thunder Game 1 on TNT, alongside analyst and Hall of Famer Grant Hill and reporter Stephanie Ready.

The final Conference Semifinal series to launch will officially do so on Tuesday, May 6 at 9:30 PM (ET) on TNT, with Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors (No. 7 seed) visit Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves (No. 6 seed) for the start of the Western Conference Semifinals. πŸŽ™ Game 1 of the Warriors-Timberwolves series on TNT features Brian Anderson (play-by-play), Stan Van Gundy (analyst), & Lauren Jbara (reporter) on commentary.

Once all four Conference Semifinals get started, the Second Round continues daily with live games through at least Monday, May 12. If any series were to be extended past the four-game minimum requirement, additional Second Round games will be played between Tuesday, May 13 and Monday, May 19

MLB on Fox: On Deck | The last two World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers (2024) and the Texas Rangers (2023), take center stage during this week's "Fox Saturday Baseball" presentation on Saturday, April 19 at 4:00 PM (ET)

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts (#50) appears during a Dodgers spring training game on March 9, 2025 in Glendale, Arizona. (πŸ“Έ: NBC News)

Monday, April 14, 2025

  • Following a two-week absence, Fox will return to their MLB coverage this Saturday (April 19) with regional coverage during the late afternoon timeslot (4:00 PM ET): Dodgers vs. Rangers or Cardinals vs. Mets (check your local listings or the bottom of this article for details about which game will be seen in your local area). In addition, FS1 will have Padres vs. Astros at 7:00 PM (ET), once "Fox Saturday Baseball" finishes up.
  • Champions Club πŸ†: The last two teams to win MLB's World Series get together for a weekend series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas as Mookie Betts and the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers play the second game of a three-game series with Corey Seager and the 2023 World Series champion Texas Rangers on Saturday, April 19 at 4:00 PM (ET) on Fox.
  • Can the Cardinals Neutralize the Mets at Citi Field?: Jordan Walker and the somewhat struggling St. Louis Cardinals draw a top-tier National League opponent this Saturday, as they will play the third game of a four-game series against Pete Alonso and the current National League East leaders New York Mets at Citi Field in Queens, New York on Saturday, April 19 at 4:00 PM (ET) on Fox.
  • A Couple of 2024 Postseason Teams Compete In Early Season Test: Fernando Tatis Jr. and the San Diego Padres (fresh off their NLDS appearance last season) continue their three-game series down in Houston against Yordan Álvarez and the Houston Astros, as both teams take a temperature of where they are in the season, on Saturday, April 19 at 7:00 PM (ET) on FS1.

This Saturday, "Fox Saturday Baseball" is back on Fox following a mini two-week "vacation". On Saturday, April 19, FOX Sports will present three games on the Fox family of networks either nationally or regionally. Leading things off at 4:00 PM (ET), Fox will regionalize two games to various markets across the country including Dodgers vs. Rangers and Cardinals vs. Mets. A few hours later in primetime, we invite you to turn to FS1 for a marquee early season matchup between the Padres and the Astros at 7:00 PM (ET). Read on for further information about Saturday's MLB on Fox coverage.

Teoscar HernΓ‘ndez and the defending World Series champions Los Angeles Dodgers continue their title defense in the Lone Star State with a weekend series against Dustin Harris and the Texas Rangers. Last weekend, the Dodgers fell victim to the Chicago Cubs, dropping two of the three games in that series. The Rangers are struggling a little bit right now following a series sweep last weekend against their divisional rival, the Seattle Mariners. Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas serves the ballpark where this matchup will be contested at. Saturday's game will begin at 4:00 PM (ET) and will be regionally televised on Fox. πŸŽ™ Lead MLB on Fox play-by-play commentator Joe Davis joins analyst and Hall of Famer John Smoltz in the booth for Dodgers-Rangers, alongside Sports Emmy Award reporter Ken Rosenthal

Willson Contreras and the St. Louis Cardinals hit the road this weekend, with a stop in Queens, New York, for a weekend set of games vs. Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets. This marks the first time this season that these two teams have played against each other. Citi Field serves as the backdrop for this early season confrontation between longtime National League foes. Saturday's third game of this four-game set will be regionally televised at 4:00 PM (ET) on Fox. πŸŽ™ Jason Benetti (play-by-play) provides commentary for Cardinals-Mets alongside 2006 World Series champion Adam Wainwright (analyst).

In primetime, FS1 hosts a must-see early season interleague matchup at 7:00 PM (ET) when Xander Bogaerts and the National League leading San Diego Padres resume their three-game weekend series against two-time World Series champion Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros from Daikin Park in Houston, Texas. πŸŽ™ Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Eric Karros (analyst) call Padres-Astros for FS1 remotely on Saturday night.

The present-day logo that is used for the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs (2022-present). (πŸ“Έ: Tamir Moore/Canva)

Tuesday, April 8, 2025

  • 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO begins Saturday, April 19 with a doubleheader on TNT: Blues vs. Jets, Game 1 & Avalanche vs. Stars, Game 1.
  • First Round coverage continues on Sunday, April 20 with three games spread out across ESPN and ESPN2: Devils vs. Hurricanes, Game 1, Senators vs. Maple Leafs, Game 1 & Wild vs. Golden Knights, Game 1.
  • At least one 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs first round game EVERY SINGLE DAY from Saturday, April 19 (when playoffs start) through Monday, April 28 (Panthers-Lightning, Game 4 and Avalanche-Stars, Game 5 [if nec.]).
  • During the duration of the first round, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, & TBS will broadcast games (co-existing most of the time with the local team broadcasts).
  • Reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers start their title defense against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the "Battle for Florida".

The 2024-25 NHL regular season schedule is just about finished (with one more night of games on Thursday, April 17). With that fact established now, let's take a look ahead to the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO. Beginning this weekend (Saturday, April 19), 16 teams begin the journey to the Stanley Cup with the arrival of the First Round (Conference Quarterfinals). Fortunately, I will be guiding you through the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs from now until a Stanley Cup champion is decided in June (as TNT will hold exclusive rights to the Stanley Cup Final this season).

The First Round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO opens up on Saturday, April 19 with a doubleheader on TNT, truTV and Max. At 6:00 PM (ET) on TNT, truTV & Max, Jordan Kyrou and the St. Louis Blues (WC2) visit Connor Hellebuyck and the Presidents' Trophy winner [Central Division champions] Winnipeg Jets (C1) for Game 1 of their Western Conference First Round matchup. πŸŽ™ Play-by-play commentator John Forslund, analyst Jennifer Botterill & fellow analyst Meaghan Mikkelson serve as the broadcast team.

Next at 8:30 PM (ET) on TNT, truTV & Max, 2024 Hart Trophy winner Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche (C3) take on Mikko Rantanen and the Dallas Stars (C2) in a re-match of last year's Stanley Cup Playoffs meeting in the Conference Semifinals. πŸŽ™ TNT's lead commentary team of Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Eddie Olczyk (analyst), & Brian Boucher (analyst) take the call from Dallas, with Ashali Vise reporting.

The following day, Sunday, April 20, ESPN will launch their 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs presentation with three games on the ESPN family of networks, including: Devils vs. Hurricanes, Game 1, Senators vs. Maple Leafs, Game 1 & Wild vs. Golden Knights, Game 1.

In the afternoon on Sunday, at 3:00 PM (ET) on ESPN, the New Jersey Devils (M3) will visit Sebastian Aho and the Carolina Hurricanes (M2) for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. πŸŽ™ Mike Monaco handles play-by-play alongside analyst Ray Ferraro and reporter Emily Kaplan.

Later on, at 7:00 PM (ET) on ESPN2, the Ottawa Senators (WC1) make their first Stanley Cup Playoffs appearance since 2017 when they face Auston Matthews and the Atlantic Division champions Toronto Maple Leafs (A1) in Game 1 of this "Battle of Ontario" Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series. πŸŽ™ John Buccigross (play-by-play) and former NHL goaltender Kevin Weekes (analyst) provide commentary.

Finishing ESPN's Sunday presentation of NHL playoff hockey, we have the Minnesota Wild (WC1) battling the Pacific Division champions Vegas Golden Knights (P1) and Jack Eichel at 10:00 PM (ET) on ESPN following the Padres-Astros Sunday Night Baseball matchup. πŸŽ™ Sunday's Wild at Golden Knights Game 1 broadcast team on ESPN features play-by-play commentator Bob Wischusen, analyst Ryan Callahan, and reporter Leah Hextall.

Then, on Monday, April 21, the ESPN family of networks (ESPN and ESPN2) team up to televise a pair of primetime doubleheaders as the First Round reaches the third day of competition. The puck drops on ESPN Monday night at 7:00 PM (ET) as the Metropolitan Division champion Washington Capitals and Alexander Ovechkin host the MontrΓ©al Canadiens, who are in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2021, for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series. πŸŽ™ ESPN's lead NHL broadcast team of Sean McDonough (play-by-play), Ray Ferraro (analyst), & Emily Kaplan (reporter) will be in Washington, DC to document the action.

ESPN2 begins their Monday doubleheader at 7:30 PM (ET) as the St. Louis Blues will compete against Kyle Connor and the Winnipeg Jets in Game 2 of the best-of-seven Western Conference Quarterfinals. πŸŽ™ John Buccigross & Kevin Weeks serve the commentary duo.

Following the Canadiens-Capitals game, stay tuned on ESPN at 9:30 PM (ET) for Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals as Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche tussle with Jason Robertson and the Dallas Stars. πŸŽ™ Bob Wischusen and Ryan Callahan call the Avalanche-Stars game from the broadcast booth, with Leah Hextall reporting rinkside.

The Monday schedule ends on ESPN2 with a late night matchup from the Western Conference as Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers (P3) begin their fourth consecutive Western Conference Quarterfinal series with the Los Angeles Kings (P2) at 10:00 PM (ET). πŸŽ™ Play-by-play commentator Roxy Bernstein and analyst Cassie Campbell-Pascall commentate the late night ESPN2 presentation from Los Angeles.

The final First Round series to start will get started on Tuesday, April 22 when Art Ross Trophy winner Nikita Kucherov and the Tampa Bay Lightning (A2) host their Atlantic Division rivals, the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers (A3), for Game 1 of the "Battle of Florida" Eastern Conference Finals at 8:30 PM (ET) on ESPN. πŸŽ™ Tuesday's Panthers vs. Lightning First Round Game 1 will be broadcast by ESPN, with Sean McDonough (play-by-play), Ray Ferraro (analyst), and Emily Kaplan (reporter) calling the game from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Following the completion of the Game 1's in all eight first round series (with Florida-Tampa Bay serving as the last one of these on Tuesday, April 22), you can expect the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO to continue every single day through Monday, April 28, with game broadcasts found on ESPN, ESPN2, TNT and TBS.

Additionally, if any First Round series goes past the four-game minimum requirement (in other words, if a series doesn't end via a sweep), more First Round games will be played from Monday, April 28 (Avalanche-Stars, Game 5) through Sunday, May 4 (a potential Game 7 for Panthers-Lightning, Canadiens-Capitals, Devils-Hurricanes, & Blues-Jets).

The proceeding is a series-by-series breakdown and a daily television lineup for Round 1 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO. Game broadcasts during this round will be handled by ESPN (ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, etc.) or Turner Sports (TNT, TBS, etc.).
